It can be really hard to maintain a healthy diet while juggling a full time job, a social life, family time, and whatever else you have going on. It’s really easy to get in the habit of eating out for lunch every day at work. Of course every once in a while this isn’t a problem at all. However, over time, eating out every day for lunch can have major effects on your health. We asked around and compiled a list of the best lunches to take to work that don’t completely suck.
Bowls
It’s super easy to meal prep a few things that can be mixed up into different types of bowls for the week. All you need is one or two bases like rice or quinoa, your favorite protein like salmon or chicken, and a few veggies like broccoli, tomato, avocado, brusselsprouts or any of your favorite veggies. This lets you mix it up and have a variety of food througout the week. Some of my favorite combos are quinoa, grilled chicken, squash and marinara sauce for an Italian inspired bowl and ground turkey, brown rice, avocado, taco seasoning and a bit of salsa for a Mexican inspired bowl!
Wraps
Now I know what you’re thinking, wraps are freaking boring. I have to admit sometimes they can be but I also think with the right ingredients, they can be really great. Some of my favorite combos are steak wraps with roasted bell peppers and onions and lemon chicken wraps with avocado and tomatoes. Don’t be afriad to get creative and mix up your proteins, veggies, and dressing to find your favorite combos!
Buddha Bowls
Buddha bowls is another great way to throw together all of the things you’ve meal prepped for the week into one delicious meal. You have complete free reign here to find your favorite combos and mix and match fun combos based off of your preferences!
The key to healthy lunches is preparing ahead of time for the week ahead and always remember to be creative! Your lunches will only be as creative as you are in the kitchen!
