Almonds
Almonds are full of healthy fats, protein, fiber, vitamin E and magnesium. They can lower blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and cholesterol. They’re also super filling and can even promote weight loss!
Popcorn
Popcorn is a great source of fiber and is also a great low calorie snack if you buy the right brands. Luckily for us, low calorie popcorn brands have been popping up left and right(sorry I can’t resist a good pun) in the past few years. Brands such as Skinny Pop, Boom Chicka Pop, Smartfood, and more.
Veggies and Hummus
Veggies and hummus is a great snack combo because you can mix it up with different veggies like celery, carrots, and sugar snap peas and different types of hummus. On top of getting a good serving of veggies, hummus is a great source of protein and is low in carbs. It’s also a good source of vitamin Bk magnesium and calcium.
Dark Chocolate
That’s right. You heard me. I said dark chocolate. Now don’t go eating an entire chocolate bar because some fitness blog said it was a healthy snack, but dark chocolate in moderation can be a good source of antioxidants. A new study found that dark chocolate may even contain more antioxidants that most fruits. Dark chocolate with high cocoa content can also be a really good source of fiber and can improve blood flow and lower blood pressure.
Bananas and Peanut butter
Peanut butter is packed with protein, fiber and potassium and bananas are great for heart health, digestion and blood pressure. They’re also a great source of potassium and fiber. This is a nutrient packed snack that tastes pretty dang good as an added bonus.
Hard boiled eggs
Hard boiled eggs are a quick and easy source of protein. They’re also a good source of, selenium, Vitamin D, B2, B6, and B12 as well as Zinc iron and copper.
